An interview with U.S. Senate candidate Dr. Rand Paul will be broadcast as part of the Tuesday, Aug. 31st “Brooks & Company” broadcast on Bardstown’s 1320 WBRT.
“Brooks & Company” host Jim Brooks will interview Paul, the Bowling Green Republican who faces Democrat Attorney General Jack Conway in the Nov. 2nd general election.
Conway’s Democratic supporters have attacked Paul’s statements regarding federal money used to fight drug trafficking in Kentucky and his stance on farm subsidies. At a breakfast at the Kentucky State Fair, farmers were presented with fake checks representing their “share” of farm subsidies if Paul is elected — zero. Paul is on the record saying that farm subsidies shouldn’t be handed to large corporate farming businesses.
Paul will provide an update on his campaign travels across Kentucky.
“Brooks & Company” airs 11 a.m. to noon every Tuesday on 1320 WBRT. Click here to listen to the show live online at the Shoutcast.com web site, or click the button on the Shoutcast interface below.
The Brooks & Company year-end show on Tuesday, Dec. 29th looked at the big stories that affected our lives in 2009.
This Tuesday, Jan.5th, we look at the year ahead at the challenges we face, including:
- The General Assembly and the state budget shortfall. Where will the state get the money it needs to balance the budget? Will legislators draft a one-year budget? Will the need for revenue prompt more calls for tax reform, or provide a boost to efforts to get slots at the horse tracks?
- With the popularity of Congress and President Barack Obama falling to new lows, will Republicans see big election gains in this year’s mid-term elections?
- With Gov. Steve Beshear’s popularity waning, will he be effective with his continued push for expanded gambling this year?
- Bardstown resident Kevin Brumley continues to post videos of sewer overflows along Town Creek. Are there problems with the $4 million project as rumored?
For discussion on these and other topics, tune in to Brooks & Company, 11-noon on Tuesdays, WBRT. And don’t forget to call with your own observations and comments! Call 348-2222 to be a part of the show. See you on the air!
